Day: 01 (Wednesday) Mumbai

You will be received by our representative in Mumbai who will assist you till the hotel where you can relax. In case you have arrived beforehand, you have the option of touring the famous places of intriguing city of Mumbai. Later in the evening, you will be transferred to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway station. The moment you will step aboard your heart will skip a beat as you will get bowled over its fascinating interiors. Relish the complimentary wine served prior to the mouthwatering dinner. The train will blow whistles in the direction of your next destination – Sindhudurg Nagari.

Day: 02 (Thursday) Sindhudurg Nagari – Tarkarli Beach – Dhamapur

After enjoying morning meal onboard, you will be taken to Malvan Jetty in an air conditioned bus. From the jetty you will be rowed to the Ocean Fort in Sindhudurg which is at the naval base of Mumbai. Built during the reign of Shivaji (17th century) it is one of the oldest in the state.
After this island visit you can move on to Beach Resort at Tarkarli tucked between mighty Arabian Sea and mild River Karli. Enjoy a stroll around the resort after lunch. The next place on the chart is the village of Dhamapur which is famous for cashew production. There are a few ancient temples like Goddess Bhagawati and Bharadi Devi temples set in the lap of nature. You will be taken to Kudal then where you can board back to your luxury train. You will be served dinner on train.

Day: 03 (Friday) Goa, where spirits are high

Deccan Odyssey will reach the most awaited destination of Goa on third day of the tour. Post morning breakfast onboard, a luxury bus will take you for a sightseeing trip in Old Goa. Portuguese were dominant in the regions of old Goa till 1961 which is reflected in the culture and lifestyle of the city. The cultural relics with traces of French spirit are the best aspect of Goa you can experience. Get a chance to visit the remains of St. Augustine Church which erstwhile enjoyed the status of being the largest Cathedral in Goa. The Basilica of Bom Jesus, the Cathedral and the Church of St. Francis of Assissi are also included in the tour. Return back to the train to have lunch on board and relax for a while. Evening will be much more exuberating as you will spend rollicking time at a beach resort. The little churches, frolicking and frothy sea cuddling the sparkling beaches completely disarm you. Indulge yourself into the craziness of Goa beaches culture while savoring on traditional dishes of the region.
Return back to the train to move ahead for your next destination.

Day: 04 (Saturday) Kolhapur

Fourth day train will arrive in Kolhapur city located on the banks of River Panchaganga. Kolhapur is picturesque looking place. You will be taken to visit the treasured royal palace which is a museum at present is an abode of rare collections of paintings belonging to royal times. The royal armaments are still retained and are as sophisticated as ever. The town hall, Lakshmi Temple and Shalini Palace are places worth dropping by. Take pleasure in the cultural program and martial arts performance. You can also do tremendous shopping especially for great jewelry, textiles and footwear. Proceed to train for lunch and for onward journey.

Day: 05 (Sunday) Daulatabad - Ellora

Early morning Deccan Odyssey reaches its next destination – Daulatabad, mainly known for its imperious looking fortress of around 600 feet height. The place was formerly known as Devagiri. After experiencing the presence of Delhi Sultan Mohammed bin Tughlak the name was changed to the present one. You then proceed to the Ellora Caves with temples representing Jainism, Buddhism and Hinduism. Listen to a detailed narrative of these caves from your guide. You are sure to be mesmerized. The excavated sites and the findings are simply amazing.
Post lunch, visit Bibi-ka-Maqbara, a replica of Taj Mahal and a grand piece of Moghul architecture. In the leisure time, enjoy shopping Paithani, Himroo, Bidriwork from showrooms for a perfect memorabilia. At evening board the train from Aurangabad railway station. Tasty dinner will be served on board.

Day: 06 (Monday) Chandrapur – Wardha

You reach the Chandrapur Railway Station on morning of the sixth day. After a nutritious breakfast quickly hop in the deluxe bus to go to Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary which is the oldest national park of Maharashtra and categorized as Project Tiger Reserve since 1993.
You can tour around the jungle in your jeep safari. It will be quite an adventure. The Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve harbouring many rare and exotic creatures like Leopard cat, Sambar, Gaur, Chinkara, Chausinga, Nilgai, Pangolin, Panther, Spotted deer, Indian bison, Sloth bear, Wild dog, Hyena, Barking deer, Jackals etc is an irresistible lure for tourists.
You will be taken back to the train for lunch and to continue with the journey to Wardha. You will visit Sevagram village where Gandhian way of life is witnessed. Get to know more about the life of Gandhi ji by exploring Gandhi’s Ashram. Return aboard in the evening.

Day: 07 (Tuesday) Visit to Ajanta Caves and Nasik

The last chapter to your travel journal is added by Ajanta Caves and city of Nasik. Your train will halt at the Bhusawal railway station from where you will be picked up by an AC bus to reach the Ajanta Caves which encase the age old Buddhist heritage. Get ready to marvel at the intricate paintings, murals and sculptures dating back to 2nd century. Here the 'Bodhisattva Padmapani' deserves a special mention. You can get back to train for lunch and then move forward to Nashik and go for a trip in Panchawati Ghat famous for the Kumbh Mela. This place is dotted by several temples with Kalaram Temple being the most famous temple devoted to Lord Ram.
Later in the evening go back to board the train where you are promised the best dinner so far as a farewell gift.

Day: 08 (Wednesday) Back to Mumbai

Your grand journey comes to an end as the train nears the Chatrapathi Shivaji station in Mumbai. Disembark the train and say adios to your fellow passengers.
